Working with digital design and fabrication firm, Metalab, ttweak redesigned the lookout to be maintenance free, and, more importantly, standardized and reproducible. The primary component of this redesign is a “kit of parts” comprised of stainless steel frames and edging (which also functions as the concrete forms), cast stone components, interpretive panels, and binoculars. This kit of parts plus the tools necessary to install the lookout is sent to lookout locations in a specially retro-fitted 40’ shipping container.
